This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the mind mapping technique and
the conventional teaching method on the science achievement of 9th-grade students. A
sample of 100 students from two schools was drawn for the study. The researcher
created the mind maps of the science chapters and prepared and standardised the
academic achievement test. The students were divided into two groups: the experimental
and the control group. The treatment was administered to both groups. MMT taught the
experimental group, while the control group used the conventional method. The result
shows that MMT significantly influences the science performance of 9th-grade students.
