 The concept of Inclusiveness came into existence to ensure education for all. India is
a land of diversity and NEP 2020 values and celebrates this diversity. To foster academic
and personal growth, cultivate a positive attitude, promote lifelong learning, and prepare
students for the future, teachers must demonstrate competence in inclusive practices.
Inclusive Competence refers to a specific set of professional skills in teachers which
enables them able to carry out their professional functions within an inclusive educational
environment and assists them to provide education to all students without any
discrimination or prejudice within a unified classroom setting. This paper conceptualizes
Inclusive Competence, elucidating its core notion, key components, and critical
necessity. Furthermore, it explores the specific Inclusive Competencies that teachers
must possess to effectively navigate and foster learning within a heterogeneous
classroom. Through this paper, the researcher provides valuable insights on enhancing
the Inclusive Competence in teachers crafting specific roles for them to function in a
classroom with diverse needs
