Happiness is a complex emotion including interest/ enjoyment, values and perceived
choice of life that gives individual contentment/ satisfaction that usually results from
meaningful experiences, connections, and a positive outlook of life, into the context of
self-esteem and intrinsic motivation. This research aims to determine the relationship
among happiness, intrinsic motivation and self-esteem. Oxford Happiness Questionnaire
(OHQ), Intrinsic Motivation Inventory (IMI), and Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale (RSES)
used and purposive sampling was done for collecting data. There was no significant
difference present between the groups of 49 male and 161 female students in terms of
these variables through computing t-test. Pearson’s coefficient of correlation revealed
a positive significant correlation between happiness, interest and value of intrinsic
motivation and self-esteem of young adult college & university students. Regression
analysis also indicates happiness as a significant predicting factor of self-esteem between
young adult students
