Resilience, the ability to cope with and bounce back from tough situations, is crucial
for enhancing life quality over time (APA, 2020). This study investigates the resilience
levels between LGBT and heterosexual individuals in Guwahati. The sample comprised
40 participants: 24 heterosexuals (60%) and 16 LGBT individuals (40%). Participants’
educational qualifications varied, with 13 (32.5%) having completed 12th grade, 17
(42.5%) undergraduates, and 10 (25%) postgraduates. Age distribution included 35
(87.5%) aged 18-25 and 5 (12.5%) above 25. Data analysis utilized independent ttests, ANOVA, and measures of central tendency, with SPSS employed for statistical
analysis at a 95% confidence level. Findings indicated that resilience levels were similar
across sexual orientations, higher education did not correlate with higher resilience,
and older individuals tended to develop greater resilience. The research aims to explore
resilience’s nuances and its potential variations across different sexual orientations
