The adolescent engages in a variety of Health risk-taking behaviours due to some
specific developmental, socio-economic, and emotional vulnerabilities. The present
study aims to analyse the effectiveness of life skills education program on health risktaking behaviour among boys and girls. The study sample comprised 500 adolescents
(224 boys and 276 girls) aged 15 to 18 years enrolled in11th and 12th grade in the
Humanities stream. Data was drawn randomly from senior secondary schools in Patiala,
Punjab. Youth Risk Behaviour Surveillance System (YRBSS) was administered and
two-way ANOVA examined the efficacy of life skills education program for adolescents
to reduce health risk-taking behaviour. A significant main effect of pre-post testing and
gender on different health risk-taking behaviours has been obtained, but there was no
significant interaction effect of pre-post testing and gender with health risk-taking
behaviour
