The study analysed 60 adolescents low on gratitude and happiness, aged 15-19, senior
secondary school students, and university students randomly sampled in the Hisar
district of Haryana, India, from December 2022 to February 2023. The mean gratitude
score ranged from 30.63 to 35.83 in the experimental group and from 31.13 to 32.43 in
the control group. The mean happiness before intervention was observed at 101.27±3.85,
which improved after three months of gratitude intervention to 124.77±4.34. The study
found a significant difference (p <0.001) in happiness between experimental and control
groups after three months of intervention; while it was nonsignificant at baseline, p was
found to be 0.784, indicating that gratitude-building exercises significantly impact
happiness levels among adolescents.
