This research investigates the relationship between family environment and self-concept
among minority adolescents residing in the Murshidabad district of West Bengal. The
investigation employed a descriptive survey methodology, wherein data were gathered
from a sample of 782 adolescent students utilizing standardized tools. These tools
encompassed various facets of the family environment and self-concept. Data analysis
was conducted using both descriptive and inferential statistical techniques with the
assistance of Microsoft Excel 2021 and SPSS version 25. A significant positive correlation
(r = 0.377, p < 0.01) was identified between family environment and self-concept,
indicating the critical role of a supportive familial atmosphere in promoting the self
concept of minority adolescents. The findings further demonstrate that gender exerted
a significant effect on self-concept (B = 5.616, p < 0.001), although it did not moderate
the relationship between family environment and self-concept (p = 0.067). These results
underscore the importance of familial context in shaping the self-image of adolescent
students
