Adolescence is a crucial developmental stage during which people experience profound
social and psychological shifts. This study aims to look into how adolescents’ adjustment
and mental health are affected by their gender, physical status, and family type. A
sample of 240 adolescents from various schools in Varanasi city, ages 14 to 17, is
gathered. Participants were administered a battery of standardized tests measuring
adjustment and mental health levels affected by demographic independent variables.
To investigate the interaction of gender, physical status, and family type on adjustment
and mental health outcomes, data analysis has employed three-way ANOVA and other
appropriate statistical procedures. Moreover, it is expected and confirmed that physical
status which includes things like normal and physical challenges will interact with
gender to affect outcomes related to mental health and adjustment. It is validated that
gender differences indicated that joint male and female families are more adjustable
than nuclear male and female families among normal and physically challenged
conditions. In contrast, nuclear male and female families are more mentally healthy
than joint male and female families in normal and physically challenged conditions.
