Mathematical achievement defines an individual’s grasp of competency and ability in a
variety of mathematical concepts and skills, which include simple arithmetic to intricate
reasoning and problem-solving activities interest is a predictor of mathematics
achievement of students learning and getting involved in mathematical activities in their
leisure time. Students with dyscalculia disorder mainly face basic problems while solving
mathematical activities. The present objective of this study was to determine the
mathematical achievement of elementary school students according to their
mathematical interests. The researcher used the cluster sampling technique and a
representative sample of this study was 37 elementary school students with dyscalculia
(mean age = 12.31), at the government school of Patiala. Formal and informal, both
types of methods were used by the researcher for the identification of elementary
school students with dyscalculia, and a mathematical interest inventory (Dubey, 1993)
tool was also used in this study. The findings of the study revealed that there was no
significant gender difference in mathematics achievement or mathematical interest
among students with dyscalculia. Furthermore, the findings of the study showed that
there was a significant relationship between mathematical achievement and
mathematical interest among elementary school students with dyscalculiate
