Previous studies explored that internet and social networking sites are the fascinating
field of research. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the relationship
between Internet and social Networking sites with academic procrastination and
aggression. The sample of the study consisted 78 university students (39 males and
39 females) with the age range of 18 to 25 years were selected from different branches
in Shivaji University, Kolhapur, Maharashtra, selected through purposive sampling.
Internet and Social Attitude Scale, Aggression Scale and Academic Procrastination
used for this study. Data was analysed by using statistical methods like mean, SD, âtâ
test and Correlation coefficient. Results of t- test values revealed that a significant
gender difference found on Internet and social Networking sites (t= 3.20, df 76, p<
0.01). But on academic procrastination and aggression no gender differences were
found. Significant and positive correlation found between Internet and social Networking
sites with academic procrastination (r= .330 p<0.01) and aggression (r=.362 p<0.01).
The study provides important insight of Indian population with the help of psychological
constructs like internet and social networking sites, academic procrastination, and
aggression.
