Sleep disturbances due to video gaming, whether online or offline has contributed
significantly to varied mental conditions from academic performances to psychological
disorders among adolescents. The present study aims to examine the relationship
between sleep disturbances and internet gaming addiction and to see if sleep
disturbances have influence on internet gaming addiction among adolescents having
internet gaming related disturbances. Through purposive sampling method, 93
adolescents (60 males and 33 females) were selected out from 600 Naga adolescents
on meeting the criteria for internet gaming addiction disturbances. The participants
completed responses for Child and Adolescent sleep Checklist and Internet Gaming
Disorder Scale-Short form. Written informed consent was taken from parents and
guardians. Results indicated that, 57% of the participants were found to have high level
of sleep disturbance, 30% scored moderately and 10% scored low. T- test results
showed that there was no significant difference between male and female in internet
addiction. On the other hand, female showed higher level of sleep disturbances compared
to males. A significant positive correlation was observed between sleep disturbance
and internet gaming related disturbances (r=.289, p<0.01). Simple regression indicated
