Understanding the family environment’s impact on social development is crucial for
early interventions to improve social and communicative skills in adolescents with
Autism Spectrum Disorder. The present study will aim to understand the family
environment and social skills in 60 adolescents diagnosed with Autism. The present
study investigated the familial context of adolescents diagnosed with Autism Spectrum
Disorder (ASD) by recruiting a sample of 60 individuals aged 10 to 19. All participants
exhibited a mild level of ASD and possessed an IQ score of 87 or above. The Family
Environment Scale was employed to analyze the familial environment, whereas the
Autism Social abilities Profile was utilized to evaluate the social abilities of teenagers
diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).A Kruskal-Wallis statistical technique
was employed to compare the groups. The research examined the family environment
and social skills of ASD adolescents across different age groups. Results showed
significant differences in active reactional and conflict subdomains, but no significant
differences in cohesion, expressiveness, acceptance, and control. The study
emphasizes the importance of family environments in addressing ASD adolescents’
needs
