The National Crime Records Bureau reported a concerning increase in juvenile crimes
in India, with 31,170 cases registered in 2021, a rise of 4.7% from 2020. Juvenile
delinquency encompasses various criminal acts committed by individuals under 18,
including violence, sexual assaults, and theft. Delinquent-prone adolescents face
numerous contributing factors and this research emphasizes identifying and
understanding risk factors, exploring protective measures, and outlining effective
intervention strategies through a comprehensive literature review. Early prevention and
targeted interventions are crucial to address issues affecting high-risk adolescents. A
holistic approach that focuses on understanding and intervening across various domains
by promoting resilience, well-being, and positive outcomes, ultimately enhancing
community safety and health
