This study aims to design systematic, reproducible, and scalable digital interventions
that incorporate global evidence and are contextually appropriate and effective in
PREPAREing (Prevention, Recognition, & Early Intervention) adolescents against mental
health conditions. The study employs the 6-step Intervention Mapping framework, a
theory- and evidence-driven approach to guide intervention design. Step one employs a
multi-informant approach to conduct a thorough needs-assessment, identifying
modifiable risk factors for adolescent mental health in Delhi (NCR), India using semistructured interviews and focus group discussions. Step two involves formulating
performance and change objectives and identifying barriers to behavior change, mapped
alongside the Theoretical Domains Framework. Step three includes selecting theoryand evidence-based methods for behavior change that can feasibly and practically
achieve the desired outcomes by addressing barriers digitally. Steps four, five, and
six—intervention production, implementation, and evaluation—are in progress and beyond
the scope of this study. Results: Study findings will provide a comprehensive guide for
developing evidence-based, theory-driven and systematic interventions, tailored to the
mental health needs and challenges of adolescents in LMICs. Study will provide a
robust foundation to future intervention research by offering a detailed framework for
developing scalable and contextually relevant mental health solutions for adolescents.
