Job Stress, Emotional Intelligence and Family Relationships among Middle Aged Adults

The purpose of the present study was to examine and analyze the role of job stress
and the influence of emotional intelligence in determining the dynamics lying within
family relationships. The study primarily focuses on the intensity and levels of influence
at various spheres that ought to bring about conflicts and solutions in family relationships
for individuals belonging to middle adulthood. A non-probability purposive sampling
technique was used to assess a sample of 148 respondents from major cities across
India. It was hypothesized that there was no significant relationship between Job stress,
Emotional Intelligence and Family Relationships that will be tested using Pearson’s
Correlation. The difference between Males and Females would be tested using T test
and Linear Regression to analyze the data. The results indicated that there was a
significant relationship between Job Stress, Emotional Intelligence and Family
relationships. There was no significant difference in results between males and females.
Implications and limitations of the study would be discussed further
