Parenting Styles in Relation to Grit Among Adolescents

Background: Parenting approach is a concept from psychology that denotes the
conventional methods of parenthood employed by parents. Grit may be additionally
characterized by the desire and dedication to achieve ambitious targets in the face of
adversity and misfortune. Aim: The primary objective of this research is to explore
similarities as well as variations in approaches to parenting with grit in adolescents.
The study is conducted on 80 adolescents. Method: Independent t- test and Pearson
correlation used to determine the differences and relationships. Results: The findings
of study have shown there was no major connection between various parenting
approaches along with grit, but significant differences were found among autocratic
style of parenting and grit, uninvolved style of parenting and grit, and permissive style
of parenting and grit. Conclusion: The results implicated that autocratic, uninvolved
and permissive styles of parenting are best parenting styles.
