This paper aims to study the relationship between mobile phone addiction and attention
span among college students. The researcher has used Mobile Phone Addiction Scale
(MPAS) by Velayudhan and Srividya and Attention Control Scale (ATTC) by Derry Berry
and Reed. The present paper investigates the correlational study of mobile phone
addiction and attention span among college students. Purposive sampling method
was used to test the hypothesis. In all, a sample of 40 students was drawn from
different colleges. Samples included both males and female. There were students who
belonged to different streams such as arts, science and maths. Obtained results show
that there is a minimal positive correlation between Mobile Phone Addiction and Attention
Span among college going students.
